Bookkeeping gets different when you have to decide.

Practice before the stakes are real.

Learn the concept. Think through the problem. Work the books. Build the experience to handle a client.

QBO Dojo brings learning, realistic bookkeeping practice, peer community, and live client simulation into one self-directed environment built for developing bookkeepers.

Knowing bookkeeping and being the bookkeeper are different skills.

Training examples can teach a concept and certification can test whether you understand it. Client books ask something else: What does this transaction mean? Why does this balance look wrong? What information is missing? What should I investigate next?

QBO Dojo gives you somewhere to develop those skills before the first time they matter is inside a paying client's books.

Three Paths

Choose How You Want to Build the Skill.

Client Brief

The exact material mix reflects the client and its bookkeeping activity.

The 90 days describes the client's business activity, not your access window. Practice Client files must be downloaded within 30 days of purchase. Keep your own copies and work them at your own pace.

Why Practice Matters

Build repetition before the books belong to a paying client.

Knowing where the buttons are is different from deciding what to do when the books aren't obvious. Real client work rarely arrives as a perfectly labeled textbook exercise. Your first unfamiliar bookkeeping problem shouldn't have to appear in a paying client's file. Practice the judgment calls before the stakes are real.

Cleanup Clients Are Coming.

Cleanup clients will be released separately from Standard clients.

The Experience

You Do the Work. We Give You the Client.

You're not following a video telling you where to click. The Client Brief provides context, the exercises establish what needs to get done, and you make the decisions. The Practice Review helps you evaluate your work whenever you're ready. Other bookkeepers in the Dojo can provide another perspective when one would help. The decisions are yours. That's where the practice happens.

Community

You're doing the work yourself. You don't have to do it in isolation.

The QBO Dojo community is a private peer space for bookkeepers working through the same kinds of bookkeeping decisions. Compare approaches. Ask other bookkeepers what they would inspect. Talk through a scenario. Explain your reasoning. Notice something someone else caught that you missed.

QBO Dojo keeps the space focused, respectful, and useful so members can talk shop without the noise.

Then let the client talk back.

Practice clients can give you realistic books. Live Client Simulation adds the part that static materials cannot fully reproduce: the client.

Information arrives over time. You ask questions. You follow up. Documents may be missing. Explanations may be incomplete. The work keeps moving. QBO Dojo plays the client while you practice being the bookkeeper.

The purpose is to practice managing the work and the client relationship together.

Complete a Live engagement and your bookkeeping performance is assessed. Pass, and you earn the corresponding Applied Bookkeeping Belt — a credential issued by QBO Dojo LLC. No prerequisites. Choose the challenge that matches your ability.
